Rudolph Day May 2019

When I saw the 25th fast approaching I knew I wanted to make a card or two, but the arthritis in my hands has been so painful this Spring that I didn't think I'd manage much stamping and colouring, so once again I turned to my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine.

I bought a few new designs from the Silhouette store recently and chose one of them to try out. I resized everything to fit onto my favourite rectangular cards which measure 17 x 11.5 cms. I buy pads of coloured card from Lidls whenever they have them, and one sheet cut in half, exactly makes two of these cards. The same size envelopes to fit them are standard out here too, which is useful.

So I chose bright green and bright blue sheets and made two of each.

The front panels are cut from pearlised white paper, and the green foliage sprays from adhesive backed card.
I found a suitable sentiment in a font I liked. It was in my silhouette folder so I must have bought it from their store originally. I shrunk it to fit in the corner of my card and cut it from metallic vinyl, gold for the green cards, and silver for the blue ones.

I also cut the fancy 'cap' for each bauble to match the sentiment. Then I rifled through my ribbons and found something to tie a bow for each one.
Because the card front had a shaped edge I couldn't use a standard insert, so I stamped a simple verse on a white panel and glued it inside, leaving enough space to write on. (A very old stamp from Great impressions).
So only four cards made this month, but they will all help my collection to grow. And now I will link to the Rudolph day Challenge on Scraps of life by Scrappy Mo
